Winter Session of Parliament: What to expect?

New Delhi: The winter session of Parliament begins on Thursday. Price rise, Maoist issue and Koda scam are expected to make it a stormy session.

The issue of rising prices will be a top priority and will be brought up by the Opposition in a big way.

The BJP has said it will move an adjournment motion in both Houses on what it calls the wrong policies of the UPA government on sugarcane price.

"It's not just price rise. Allegations of corruption are the government's other big battle," BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj.

AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister asking DMK minister Raja to be dropped for his involvement in the 2G scam.

And it's not just him, the Congress will also be put on the defensive about its alleged links with former Chief Minister Madhu Koda and the multi-crore money laundering scam.

"Corruption is a big issue. We will raise the issue of Mr Raja," said CPM politburo member Sitaram Yechury.

Sources say the Liberhan Commission Report with an action taken report will be filed in this session. And if that wasn't enough for sparks, the women's reservation bill is also slotted.
