Panaji:
Goa Police on Wednesday pressed for the custodial interrogation of former Minister Fransisco Mickey Pacheco, who according to them visited Nadia Torrado's place, a day before she committed suicide. (Read: Pacheco named main suspect in Nadia Torredo's death)

Opposing the anticipatory bail plea filed by Pacheco before a sessions court, Crime branch on Wednesday said they want his custodial interrogation to probe his role in the entire case.

The court has fixed the order on anticipatory bail for Thursday.

Public Prosecutor, appearing for the Crime Branch, said Nadia's mother Sonia Torrado has burnt all the relevant evidence related to the case.

Police said the evidence was required to link Pacheco with 28-year-old Nadia, who died on May 30 after consuming poison. She was treated at Mumbai and Chennai hospitals before she breathed her last. (Read: 11 injury marks found on body of Goa woman: Police)

According to the Crime Branch, Nadia's brother during his statement conceded that huge money was spent on her treatment by Pacheco and an unknown person.

Police said Pacheco knew Nadia even before her marriage. Nadia married Wilson Barretto in 2007 and thereafter their relation ran into rough weather.

The public prosecutor said involvement of family members in the entire case could be verified only after thorough interrogation of Pacheco.
