A young woman jumped from the second floor of a building near Kolkata on Sunday to escape rape. Her boyfriend and two of his friends, who allegedly tried to rape her, have been arrested.

The woman reportedly came to meet her boyfriend. Two of his friends were present when she arrived. They allegedly gave her a spiked drink and then propositioned her. When she screamed, they allegedly threatened to kill her. That is when she ran to the roof and jumped, the police say.
Locals who saw the woman jump took her to hospital. Some also caught hold of the three attackers and handed them over to the police.
