Lucknow: The woman who had lodged a police complaint against senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur alleging rape, recorded her statement before a magistrate in Lucknow on Tuesday.

"The woman's statement was recorded as per rules before the magistrate," Inspector General Public Grievance A Mutha Jain said.

The Ghaziabad-based woman had registered a first information report (FIR) against Mr Thakur under sections 376 (rape), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code on Saturday night.

Mr Thakur's wife, social activist Natun Thakur, was also made co-accused in the FIR.

The woman in her FIR alleged that in November last year Mrs Thakur had come to Ghaziabad where during her meeting, she promised job to her and invited her to Lucknow.

The woman had alleged that on December 31, she went to the Thakurs' residence where she was raped when Mrs Thakur sent her to Amitabh Thakur's room for an interview.

Mr Thakur had last week given an application against Mulayam Singh Yadav alleging that he was threatened by the Samajwadi Party chief and also released the audio of the purported conversation between them.
