New Delhi:
Two eminent women lawyers today demanded that an FIR be lodged against former Supreme Court judge Justice AK Ganguly who has been accused of misbehaviour by a woman law intern.
The demand was made shortly after the Supreme Court made public that Justice Ganguly has recorded his statement to a three-judge committee of the apex court which was set up to go into the sexual harassment allegations made by the intern.
Additional Solicitor General Indra Jaisingh said an FIR should be lodged in Justice Ganguly's case. She said it was good that the court has named the judge.
Ms Jaisingh also wanted the court to set a precedent by evolving guidelines in this regard.
Another lawyer Kamini Jaiswal said it was the duty of the Supreme Court to lodge an FIR against the judge.
However, Justice Ganguly has denied the allegations of the intern and said he was "shocked and shattered" by them.
