Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on a four-day visit to Japan, is addressing Japanese business leaders in Tokyo. Following are the highlights of his address:
- I have been the Gujarat chief minister for a long time, now I am the PM
- During that time my strongest relation was with the Japanese delegation
- They used to come to Gujarat every year
- Simplification of policies need to be done
- I was aware of these but understood them specifically as per Japanese requirements
- Those who know the Gujarat experiment have high expectations from me
- They all need big changes quickly
- If you see my 100 day tenure: we have taken good initiatives which can be seen
- Have initiated the Japanese form of management in PMO
- Good governance is our priority
- Worked on how the online technology and processes can work efficiently
- We want to promote skill development to meet global workforce requirement by 2020
- Clean energy is the biggest requirement today
- 21st century is Asia's century, the world has accepted it. Question on my mind is - how will it be? We have to provide the answer
- There are two streams - one of 'Vistarvaad' and the other of 'Vikasvaad'. 'Vikasvaad' is the way ahead
- Have decided that special team will be created under PMO to facilitate Japanese investments in India
