Ahmedabad: Chinese President Xi Jinping today wore an Indian look as he was attired in an off-white khadi jacket presented to him by Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon after his arrival in Ahmedabad.
Xi Jinping wore the jacket over his white shirt when he visited the Sabarmati Ashram, once the abode of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
The Chinese President and PM Modi spent a few minutes at Hriday Kunj in the Ashram, where Xi Jinping operated the 'charkha' (spinning wheel).
Xi Jinping and the First Lady later visited the Sabarmati riverfront and were accompanied by the Prime Minister.
They witnessed glimpses of Gujarati culture.
The two leaders sat on a 'jhoola' (swing) for a few moments.
The President and his wife also sat on a traditional cot, before joining PM Modi for a private dinner on the riverfront.
