BJP attacked Akhilesh Yadav over reports that he may reinstate sacked minister Gayatri Prajapati.
New Delhi:
BJP today termed the feud in the ruling Yadav family as a fight over the "spoils of power" and attacked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav over reports that he may reinstate sacked minister Gayatri Prajapati.
"The Akhilesh Yadav government has become a liability. It has worked to loot the public exchequer all these years and what we are seeing now is a fight over this booty, these spoils of power," BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
Referring to the Mathura violence and mining scandal, he said the chief minister cannot dissociate himself from these events and his accountability has to be more as he is also the home minister.
Mr Prajapati's name, Mr Sharma alleged, had cropped up in the Rs 5,000-crore mining scam and he was allowed to continue despite adverse Lokyukta reports.
If he is reinstated as per the reports, then it is clear that what has been witnessed in the ruling party is also a part of scripted drama, he alleged.
