New Delhi:
The Yamuna is flowing close to the danger mark after incessant rains. Water was discharged on Wednesday and Thursday.
Officials have sounded an alert warning low lying areas of flooding. However, they maintained there is nothing to panic.
They say if it doesn't rain any more there is nothing to worry about but, more rains can cause water levels to increase.
Also, Delhi woke up to another wet morning on Friday, a day after heavy rains lashed the Capital and threw normal life out of gear. Though, the intensity of the rain was relatively less, vehicular movement was affected in Delhi.
Though, there were no major traffic jams in the city, but slow moving traffic was reported from various parts of the city including the DND toll, from Dhaula Kuan to Subroto Park, at Meethapur chowk and at the Moolchand flyover.
On Thursday, Delhi received 18.5 mm rains, causing widespread waterlogging affecting the vehicular movement. The entire city was at a virtual standstill. The ongoing construction work for CWG games too hampered the already hit traffic.
MCD officials came under wide criticism for over flowing drains across the city even after claims of de-silting.
