Yasin Bhatkal is one of India's 12 most-wanted men
Patna:
The operation to arrest Indian Mujahideen chief Yasin Bhatkal was so secret that for hours after his arrest, only a few senior Bihar Police officers were told that he had been found in the state near the Nepal border. They were not given information on where he was being interrogated.
"It was Bihar Police that mainly helped NIA (National Investigation Agency) and other government agencies to arrest Bhatkal," the state's police chief Abhyanand told reporters today.
Another senior police officer said Bhatkal, one of India's 12 most-wanted men, will be moved to Delhi soon.
The state government has sounded an alert across Bihar, particularly in the border districts following Bhatkal's arrest.
"We have alerted district police officials and asked them to keep a close watch..." an official of the state home department said.
