Yoga Camp Held In Oxford Ahead Of International Yoga Day

New Delhi: A yoga camp was organised in Oxford in the UK ahead of the International Yoga Day which is all set to be observed across the world today.

"People participated in a Yoga camp, organised by the @tourismgoi, ahead of the #IDY2016, in Oxford, UK," Union Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma tweeted.

He also posted a picture of people performing yoga in a lush green garden in Oxford.

June 21 was declared as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2014. Over 190 countries, including 40 Islamic nations, supported the move to have a special day for yoga.

In India, as many as 57 Union ministers will spread across the country for the 2nd International Yoga Day programmes, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the exercise in Chandigarh.
