Chandigarh: Haryana government has declared public holiday during the first two working hours on the International Yoga Day event on June 21, in all government offices, boards and corporations and educational institutions under the state government.
"This public holiday will also be observed in various factories, commercial establishments and shops located in the State. This holiday will also be observed in Haryana Civil Secretariat, Sector 1, Chandigarh from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM to facilitate security arrangements for Prime Minister's visit," an official release said today.
This order has been issued within the meaning of Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, it said.
The International Yoga Day event is being held on June 21 in Chandigarh, capital of both Haryana and Punjab, and the mega event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
