New Delhi: Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav today favoured action against those who had engaged in anti-national sloganeering at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and also questioned Delhi Police's arrests of those "who had not shouted" such slogans.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of 'Act Now - National Convention on Corruption' in New Delhi, Mr Yadav accused the NDA government of not even trying to trace those responsible for the sloganeering and stifling dissenting voices.
"The slogans were objectionable. Action should be taken as per laws pertaining to the University and other," Mr Yadav said.
He alleged the government had allegedly jumped to conclusion without a proper probe to arrest those "who are not guilty" in the matter and that it is sending out a message through the JNU row that those who will dissent will be trapped.
"What happened in Patiala House Court complex also shows that if you oppose us, you will be vulnerable in courts too," Mr Yadav stated.
