Adityanath's visit to the Taj Mahal comes over three weeks after his government introduced the booklet which catalogues important tourist destinations in the state but found no mention of the white marble stunner. The Chief Minister who will also address a media briefing later and is expected to speak about Uttar Pradesh's 370 crores development plan for the city and the proposed international airport at Agra.

'Why go into who built the Taj Mahal'
Yogi Adityanath, whose party had recently come under attack due to BJP leader Sangeet Som who called the Taj Mahal 'a blot on India', said that there was no point in getting into who built the historical monument as the more important fact is that it was built on the 'backs of Indian workers'.
'Many people raised objections to my Agra visit'
Yogi Adityanath said that many people had raised objections to his visit to Agra and had made several remarks over it. "These are the people who have failed to do anything for Agra," he said.

Yogi Adityanath participated in a cleanliness drive outside the Taj Mahal where the chief minister was seen sweeping the ground outside the historic monument with a broom in his famous saffron attire.
The Uttar Pradesh chief minister arrived in Agra on a helipad. He is also expected to visit the Kachpura Mehtap Bagh to inaugurate a pro-poor development project.

Yogi Adityanath is also expected to stay for half an hour at the graves of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal as a part of his visit to the Taj Mahal.
The foundation stone near the Agra Fort is for the development of a tourist pathway from the Taj Mahal to the fort.
Yogi Adityanath is expected to arrive at the Agra Fort shortly, where he will lay the foundation stone of the Shahjahan Park. He would make a visit to the Taj Mahal after the stone laying ceremony. Mr Adityanath would be the first Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister from the BJP to visit the iconic monument.
