YSR's body in Hyderabad, Rosaiah is new CM

Hyderabad:

The bodies of YSR Reddy and the four other men who died in his helicopter crash have arrived in Hyderabad. They were flown to the Andhra capital from the airbase at Kurnool.

YSR's helicopter was found on a hilltop in Rudrakonda on Thursday morning, 24 hours after it went missing. It had crashed here, apparently because of bad weather.

There were no survivors. There were four men on board with the chief minister.  They were: Special Secretary P Subramanyam, Chief Secretary A S C Wesley, pilot Group Captain S K Bhatia and co-pilot M S Reddy.

The chief minister's body will lie at his official residence. From 9 am to 1 pm on Friday, YSR's body will be at Lal Bahadur Stadium for public viewing. He will then be taken to his village, Pulivendula, for last rites.

Finance Minister Rosaiah has been sworn in as the new chief Minister at a simple ceremony with six people present.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will arrive in Hyderabad by 9 am on Friday and go to YSR's residence.

They will spend an hour or so first in public area of the house and then with the family members, and leave for Delhi by about 10 am.
