Perth: In a first, a 92-year-old Indian Navy veteran has won a gold medal in a 5,000-metres race walk at the World Masters Athletics Championships being held in Perth.
Commodore V Sriramulu (Retd), a veteran settled in Visakhapatnam, has won the Gold Medal in the Race Walk event in the age group of 90-95 years.
He is also participating in two other race walks - one of 10 kms and another of 20 kms this week.
