New Delhi: India today said it was closely monitoring the investigation into the explosion at a Gurdwara in Germany's western city of Essen which was possibly carried out by ISIS.
"We assume this to be an act of terrorism...the police had held a press conference in which it announced arrest of one Yusuf T who reported to have surrendered after a manhunt was launched," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said.
He said the police claimed to have got a confession that suggested that he has possible links with the ISIS.
"Investigation is ongoing and more details are awaited. We are closely monitoring the situation," he added.
A 60-year-old Sikh priest was among three persons who were injured when the bomb went off in the entrance hall of the Gurdwara Nanaksar at the end of a wedding ceremony on Saturday.
Replying to a separate query, Mr Swarup said government was committed to bring back Purulia arms drop case prime accused Kim Davy from Denmark.
A Dane, Davy is accused of orchestrating the air-drop of a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including 300 AK-47s, anti-tank grenades and rocket-propelled grenade launchers, from an AN-26 aircraft that he owned on the night of December 17, 1995 in West Bengal's Purulia district.
