London: A court in Britain has sentenced a 51-year-old man for attacking an Indian-origin pub owner in Kent county, England, a media report said today.
Jaswinder Singh Thandi was left with a broken finger and a deep cut on his head after Mark Prince tore apart a beer can and assaulted him on March 16 this year, Kent Online reported.
The court on September 14 sentenced Prince to two-and-a-half years in jail after he admitted injuring Mr Thandi.
"He (Prince) was drunk and aggressive," prosecutor Paul Valder said.
"Matters came to head when the defendant ripped the can in half and struck him in the face, causing a gash to his forehead," Mr Valder told the court.
"This is far and away the most serious offence he has committed," she said.
