New York: An Indian-origin entrepreneur in US has developed a simple device that can fit your toilet seat and do away with the need of 'barbaric' toilet paper rolls.

"All over the world - in Europe, Asia, the Middle East - people use bidets. Using toilet paper to clean your butt is barbaric!" said Miki Agrawal, CEO and Co-Founder of THINX, which develops period underwear for women.

Tushy is a bidet product that can fit onto the seat of most American toilets, and does not need additional electricity or plumbing to operate.

"It shoots a precise spray of water exactly where you need it, and leaves you feeling clean and refreshed," Canadian born Mr Agrawal told 'Forbes' magazine.

It promises easy installation within 10 minutes, to clean far better than toilet papers and save trees and water in the process.

About 27,000 trees get chopped down every day to make toilet paper and producing one roll requires 37 gallons of water, according to the product website.
