Dubai:
India has made it mandatory for employers of Indian workers and nurses in the UAE to register themselves online on a government website before hiring them.
"With effect from June 1, 2015, the foreign employers, who seeks to recruit Indian nurses, need to register in the eMigrate system (www.emigrate.gov.in)," the Indian embassy said in a statement in Dubai.
The recruitment agencies which are authorized to recruit Indian nurses will not charge any fees towards recruitment expenses from them, it said.
Moreover, foreign employers in UAE will not recover any amount towards the cost of recruitment from Indian nurses, initially or subsequently, during their contract, it added.
Further, with effect from today, the emigration of nurses for overseas employment in UAE will require prior emigration clearance from Protector of Emigrants' offices in India, the statement said.
Meanwhile, all the foreign employers, who seeks to recruit Indian workers, also need to register in the eMigrate system, the statement posted on the embassy website said.
"Thereafter, the Foreign Employers can raise the demand for Indian workers on the eMigrate system and seek a permit to recruit directly or select Recruiting Agents in online manner," it said.
The new system will be implemented in four phases -- employers hiring between 50 and 150 Indian workers will have to register before June 30, those hiring 20 to 50 workers must register by July 31, and those hiring less than 20 workers must register by August 31.
Employers hiring over 150 workers are advised to register online with immediate effect, it said.
