Jodhpur:
An Indian Air Force (IAF) corporal committed suicide on Sunday in the barracks in Jodhpur air base in Rajasthan, over 340 km from state capital Jaipur.
"He was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the barracks of air force station, Jodhpur, in the afternoon," said a police official.
24-year-old Rahul Singh joined the Air Force six years ago.
"A court of inquiry has been ordered into the incident and we have assured police of full cooperation," Colonel SD Goswami, spokesperson for the defence ministry posted in Jodhpur, told IANS by phone.
This is the second incident of alleged suicide involving Air Force personnel in two weeks. On November 28, 29-year-old Squadron Leader Anandita Das from West Bengal was found hanging from a ceiling fan in Jodhpur.
