Armed man roams streets, lands in jail

The residents in Sumer Nagar of Mansarovar were terrified when they witnessed a man holding a countrymade pistol and roaming around the area.

Many were intimidated when the man flaunted the pistol and even started pointing at some people who resisted.

After all the intimidation, the police successfully arrested him and the accused, who was allegedly creating nuisance in the locality, turned out to be a hardcore criminal involved in vehicle lifting, idol thefts, burglary.

Following the disturbance and nuisance created by the accused, a police team headed by the Mansarovar station house officer (SHO), Sanjay Sharma, arrested the accused identified as Mahendra Singh and booked him for allegedly possessing an unlicensed arm.

Divulging more details about the accused, Sharma told DNA that, "The illegal possession of arm clearly indicates that the accused had some motives to get into some kind of crime activity in the area. We are probing all the elements including the motive behind the nuisance in the locality."

As per the police records, Singh has been booked for dozen cases including vehicle lifting, idol thefts, and burglary and for creating nuisance at Kota and Bundi in the state.

"He hails from Bundi and that he might be planning for some bigger crime or heist when a police team arrested him for illegal possession of countrymade pistol," an investigating officer in the case said.
