Jaipur:
An auto driver was arrested Friday for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl for almost a month after kidnapping her from bus stand in the city, police said.
According to the police, the girl, a resident of Neem Ka Thana in Sikar district, had left home for Jaipur June 15. "She had come here to see her uncle who lives in the city's Jhotwara locality," said a police officer.
He added that the girl got off the bus at Sindhi Camp bus stand. "Jitendra Singh, 22, who takes passengers from the bus stand, rushed to her and offered to take her in his auto to her destination. However, the girl was confused as she had forgotten her uncle's address," said the officer.
On the pretext of searching the address, he took her first to a rented accommodation in Jaipur and then to his village in Dausa district where he kept her for a month.
"Police recovered the girl and arrested Jitendra. The medical examination proved that she was repeatedly raped. She has been handed over to her uncle in the city," said the officer.
