Boy's headless body found in rail compartment

Jaipur: The headless body of a boy was found stuffed in a bag under a passenger seat on a train in Rajasthan on Friday, police said.

The body was recovered from the Sikandrabad (Uttar Pradesh)-Bikaner Express around 4.30 pm at Merta Road railway station in Nagaur district, some 250 km from Jaipur.

The body is yet to be identified.

"Some passengers informed the railway officials after they felt a foul smell emanating out of a bag lying under a seat in coach S9 in the train," a police officer said.

The bag was opened by the police at Merta Road railway station. "A headless body which seems to be of a young boy was stuffed in the bag," said the officer.

He added that entire train was searched after the body's recovery. "Nobody onboard the train saw anyone putting that particular bag under the seat," said the officer.

A first information report (FIR) has been registered with the government railway police at Merta Road.

"The missing persons complaints lodged with various police stations in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan are being examined to identify the deceased. The killer apparently used a sharp-edged weapon to chop the head off," said the officer.
