Jaipur:
Dausa MP and Meena community leader Kirori Lal Meena and his wife Golma Devi, a Rajasthan minister, continued their dharna against corruption for a second day today at civil lines.
Meena said that their dharna was against corruption as a result of which tribal people were unable to avail of benefits under the welfare schemes meant for them in the state.
"The dharna is on for a second day and appropriate security arrangements have been made in the area," said Jose Mohan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jaipur (South)
Meanwhile, supporters of Meena have started pouring into Jaipur from different parts of the state to extend their support.
Meena had planned to take out a mass rally in the tribal area of Udaipur yesterday but he had to retract after the district administration forcefully sent him out of the city on the eve of the scheduled march.
Angry over the district administration's decision to not allow Meena to hold a rally in Udaipur, supporters of the MP blocked the Jaipur-Agra National Highway for over two hours at three places in the district.
Meanwhile, members of the community have also extended their support to anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare who has started a fast-unto-death in Delhi for a stronger anti-graft law.
