Jaipur:
Four persons including a forest officer (RFO) sustained injuries in a panther attack near Bhaiv village in Sirohi district on Tuesday morning. A team of forest department officials rescued the panther, which had strayed into the village, after several hours.
According to reports, one Dhanna Ram of Bhaiv village, was going to his farm at around 6 am when a panther, hiding in bushes, attacked him. Dhanna sustained injuries on one of his arms. The villagers then informed forest department about the incident but the officials reached village at around 2.30 pm.
Tehsildar Nandkishore Rajoura told DNA that forest officials managed to catch the panther with the help of villagers but in this process three persons including the regional forest officer Praveen Singh Sindal got injured. They were rushed to a hospital for medical aid where doctors found that Sindal got his left hand finger fractured. Sources said that panther was earlier seen in the village around 3-4 days back but forest department officials paid no heed to the information till a villager was attacked. Panther was weak and had sustained injuries during fight with a hyena few days back.
