Jaipur:
Tourists will now have to show their photo identity card along with the ticket while visiting the Ranthambhore National park in Sawaimadhopur district.
"Trial run for the system, aimed at promoting fair and transparent booking of vehicles and security, began today which will be regularised from December 7," District Collector Ravi Kumar told PTI.
"It is to ensure the identity of the visitor in whose name the vehicle has been booked. It will also help in controlling black marketing of tickets for which we have been receiving complaints. Similarly, it is important from security point of view," he said.
The district collector has formed three committees consisting of police, forest, tourism and district administration officials for functioning of the new system.
Another district administration official said tour operators and hoteliers allegedly book vehicles under fictitious names and offer services later to their customers at a higher prices and as a result of this tourists do not get vehicles at the prevailing rate.
