Jaipur: Four booked for fudging records to issue pilot licence

Jaipur: Rajasthan Police's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered yet another case against four persons in connection with issuance of forged documents for commercial pilot's licence causing loss to the state exchequer.

Inspector general, ACB, Umesh Mishra, said that Mahaveer Singh Beniwal and Mahendra Kumar, chief flying instructors of Hisar and Jaipur respectively, air traffic controller (ATC) official of Sanganer Airport Manoj Jain and Kota-based trainee Priyeta Sharma were involved in the case.

He said that Sharma was issued forged documents by the officials related to training and cross-country flying, which caused financial loss to the state exchequer.

Sharma, a resident of Kota, had enrolled for the commercial flying pilot course at the Rajasthan State Flying School in 2004. She was trained only for 54 hours, but Kumar mentioned 145 hours of flying in her record and sent it to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Beniwal and Kumar also forged details of cross-country flying of 300 nautical miles from Jaipur to Hisar via Bhiwani.

During investigation, it was found in flying school records that Sharma deposited only Rs 70,000 instead of Rs 1,26,000 against the flying training, thus causing loss of Rs 56,000.

When the ACB checked the records at Sanganer institute, it found that Sharma was only given 22 hours of training. In cross-country flying, it was shown in the records that Sharma flew from Jaipur to Hisar and back to Jaipur and even a fake certificate was issued by chief flying officers of Jaipur and Hisar.

Mishra said that a case under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and under sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 120 (b) of IPC has been registered against them.
