'Jaipur may need 1600 lakh units power per day next month'

Jaipur: Rajasthan Energy Minister Jitendra Singh on Friday reviewed the arrangements of electricity supply in the state.

In view of deficit monsoon, the demand for the power has increased and it was estimated that the demand will be 1600 lakh units per day from next month, an official said.

The minister expressed satisfaction that the power supply in the state is better than other states and said that government was allocating Rs. 1356 crore to ensure proper electricity from October 2012 to March 2013.

The minister directed officials to make possible efforts to ensure that the supply of electricity remains proper at the time of crisis, particularly during the time of Rabi crops.

Secretary Energy department Nareshpal Gangwar and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
