A 19-year-old Japanese tourist's visit to Jaipur took a brutal turn early on Monday morning. She was allegedly raped, and dumped at an isolated place, nearly 60 kilometers from Jaipur. The man accused of the crime had reportedly befriended her by introducing himself as a tour guide.
After reaching Jaipur from Varanasi, the young lady checked into Stephels guest house. According to the owner of the guest house - Firoz, the young lady reportedly went out sightseeing almost immediately after checking-in. But when she did not return, Mr Firoz got worried.
"In the morning I got a phone call from the Bangru police station. I confirmed that the lady had checked-in to the guest house. The police said that the lady had been drugged and raped," said Mr Firoz.
"He made her an offer that he would take her for a tour around the city, and since he spoke well, and in English, the lady got convinced. He took her around on his motorcycle. At night, on the pretext of dropping her back to her hotel, he took her to an isolated area and raped her," said DC Jain, the Inspector General of police - Jaipur Range.
