Jaipur: There was no respite from cold wave across the state as temperatures continued to take a dip at majority of the places in the state.
Churu in plains while Mount Abu in hills remained coldest in the state recorded a minimum temperature of 6.5 degree Celsius and minus one degree Celsius, the Met reports said on Wednesday.
Attributing the climatic change to the absence of upper air cyclonic circulation and western disturbances the met office said that mercury would continue to take a dip across the state.

Jaipurities continued to witness a cold morning as the city recorded a minimum temperature of 6.5 degree Celsius, almost one degree below the normal minimum temperature. The early morning fog and mist continued to play a spoilsport to the air, road and rail traffic especially during the early morning hours.
At the highways connecting Jaipur to Agra, Jaipur to Delhi and Jaipur to Ajmer, the traffic was halted due to poor visibility while at least half-a-dozen early morning trains arrived and departed late from the Jaipur railway station. Some early morning flights from Delhi landed late at the international terminal of the Sanganer airport.
Majority of the areas including Churu, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Barmer, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer recorded temperatures below 10 degree Celsius and cold wave swept across these regions of the state.
The ongoing spell of the chilly weather conditions compelled the people from every walks of life to confine themselves to their respective homes and offices.
The roads wore a deserted look in the evening due to the chilly winds and weather. The Met officials further forecast that the mercury would continue to take a dip across the state and minimum and maximum temperatures in the state capital Jaipur would likely to be around 6.0 degree celsius and 19.0 degree Celsius on Thursday.
