Jaipur: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will lay the foundation stone for an airport in Kishangarh and the Metro Rail phase-1B in Jaipur tomorrow, official sources said.
The airport will come up at Kishangarh, about 100 kilometres from Jaipur and 35 kilometres from Ajmer. It will cater to demands of pilgrims who visit the Ajmer Dargah Sharif and Pushkar Lake.
The new airport, estimated at around Rs160 crore, is likely to start its operation in 2016.
Dr Singh will also dedicate to the nation a solar power plant constructed under Jawahar Lal Nehru Solar Mission in Jaipur.
Later, he will lay the foundation stone for the construction of the underground Metro Rail at a ceremony at the proposed Chandpole station in Jaipur to be built by Continental Engineering Corporation (CEC) at a cost of Rs 507 crore in next three years.
