Jaipur:
On the second day of protests by lawyers, police used tear gas and resorted to lathicharge on a group of lawyers demonstrating outside a sessions court in Jaipur's Bani Park.
Incidents of stone-pelting have been reported today. A police post near the city Collectorate and some police vans were also set on fire.
Top on the list of the protesting lawyers' demands is a housing scheme and a monthly stipend for new lawyers for a period of five years.
Yesterday, the lawyers had protested outside the Rajasthan assembly. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was presenting state budget in the Assembly at the time.
Some policemen were injured in the stone pelting incident yesterday, police say. Lawyers claim that at least 70 protesters were injured.
