Jaipur:
The Rajasthan government on Wednesday declared five districts scarcity-hit in view of deficient rainfall.
At a meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority, chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Nagaur, were declared such.
Mr Gehlot directed to issue a notification in this regard, an official said.
He authorised district collectors to carry out the process for preparing 'girdawri' report in advance so as to assess the drought.
He also gave orders to ensure proper water, power and fodder management in the state in view of a drought-like situation.
