Jaipur: Former Rajasthan minister Babu Lal Nagar accused of raping and assaulting a 35-year-old woman, today gave consent for a medical examination.

In a letter to the CID crime branch which is probing the case, the former minister has said he would go for the medical examination on September 28, a police spokesman said.

Earlier in the day, investigating officials interrogated Nagar's four family members and a woman employee working at his residence.

Nagar, who had been served notices thrice by the CID crime branch to report to its office for a medical examination and recording of his statement, had reportedly gone on a pilgrimage, his son told the probe agency.

"Nagar is still untraceable and his location was not disclosed by his family members," a crime branch source said, adding one of his relative, Ravi Nagar, delivered the consent letter at the CID office.

The Minister of State for Dairy resigned last week following an FIR against him by a woman alleging that he had raped and assaulted her at his official bungalow on September 11 taking her there on the pretext of giving a job.

The 53-year-old Nagar, however, had denied the allegations, saying his political rivals had "framed" him ahead of the Assembly elections.
