Jaipur: Two men were killed when a goods train rammed into a truck which was crossing an unmanned railway crossing in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district on Thursday, police said.
A senior police officer told IANS that the accident occurred near Mandalgarh in the district, some 350 kilometres from Jaipur.
"The goods train was on its way to Chittorgarh from Kota. It rammed into the truck which was crossing the unmanned railway crossing. Both truck driver and helper, Cheepa Gujjar and Ramesh Prajapat, were killed on the spot," said the officer.
Local villagers placed the bodies on the railway tracks and staged demonstrations demanding that a manned crossing be set up so that people can cross the tracks safely.
