Jaipur:
A 24-year-old youth was arrested today for allegedly raping two minors in Alwar district of Rajasthan, police said.
"The accused Ganga Nut has confessed to the crime and is being interrogated," said Mahesh Goyal, Superintendent of Police, Alwar.
Both the cases were reported in the rural areas of the district and the victims were targeted when they had gone to collect firewood.
The two cases were reported on October 7 last in Birai village and on November 6 in Aerodrome Road area.
"Both the cases were registered in women police station of Alwar last year. After detailed investigations by a special team led by Priti Chandra, Additional Superintendent of Police (rural), the accused was apprehended today," the SP said.
Ganga was also involved in a similar incident of alleged rape about a year ago but the case was withdrawn, Goyal said.
The accused would lure the girls to an isolated place in forest area on the pretext of providing firewood and rape them, he said.
