Accident claims 4 students on Jammu - Srinagar highway

Jammu: Four students from Haryana were among five persons who were killed and three others injured when a vehicle carrying them rolled down into a gorge on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning.

A car, which was carrying students of Elementary Teachers Training (ETT) of Haryana, from Srinagar to Jammu, skidded off the road and rolled down into the deep gorge near Chenani, the police said.

Five persons, including the car driver, were killed and three others were injured, they said. The deceased have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar, Parveen, Naresh Kumar and Ravinder Singh, and car driver, Abdul Majeed, resident of Dooru area of south Kashmir, they added.
