Jammu: Amarnath yatra from Jammu remained suspended for the second day on Sunday in the wake of curfew and tense situation triggered by communal clashes in Kishtwar district in Jammu.
"The yatra from Jammu remained suspended for the second day as no fresh batch was allowed to move to Amarnath cave shrine from Jammu," police said.
The authorities today also suspended the Buddha Amarnath Yatra as pilgrims were not allowed to move to the shrine of Lord Shiva at Mandi hills in Poonch district in view of curfew in Rajouri district.
Amarnath yatra was suspended yesterday in view of bandh and tense situation triggered by communal clashes in Kishtwar district in which two persons were killed and 20 others were injured.
"The yatra from Jammu remained suspended for the second day as no fresh batch was allowed to move to Amarnath cave shrine from Jammu," police said.
