Jammu:
A BJP leader today criticized Home Minister P Chidambaram for complimenting Jammu and Kashmir government for "tactful" handling of BJP's Ekta Yatra, seeking to hoist the tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on January 26.
"We express serious concern over the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's remarks complementing the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister for what he described as tactful handling ofBharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Rashtriya Ekta Yatra last week," BJP spokesperson and national executive member Jitendra Singh told reporters.
It was also a gross impropriety on the part of Chidambaram to compliment the state authorities which had unauthorisedly kept in illegal detention three senior BJP national leaders two of whom, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj enjoyed the status of Union cabinet ministers, he said.
