People have voted against the National Conference and the Congress and we have emerged as a prominent party.
We are going to explore the possibilities of forming a government in Jammu and Kashmir. We will do what is best for the people of the state.
I am really not aspiring for the office of Chief Minister and I really don't want it now.
99 percent no to an alliance with the BJP.
BJP is more relevant than it was before in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP has been a victim of their own propaganda. They had raised the bar too high for themselves.
People have voted for an even more fractured government than the last times.
At this point, the onus of the formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir is on the PDP, the BJP and the Congress and not on me.
I feel more a victor today than I felt in 2008.

This is a year of big wins for the BJP.
I would like to assure the people of Jharkhand that BJP will keep its promises of development.
Our vote share in Jharkhand has gone up from 24% to 31.3%. Percentage wise in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP has got the largest vote share of over 23%.
I thank the BJP workers in both the states. Without them, this electoral victory would not have been possible.
Party is keeping all the options open for the formation of a popular government in Jammu and Kashmir. We will decide on the basis of initiative taken by other parties.
Poll verdict is a lesson for those who oppose our government's agenda of development and change.

There will be no victory rallies in Srinagar after results of the assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir are declared tomorrow. The winners, however, can celebrate at their respective party headquarters.
It has been a month on the road now. I have been shifting from one part of Jharkhand to the other, covering the five-phase Assembly elections here, a state with just 81 assembly seats but also a state where one single party has almost never had an absolute majority government.
Record overall turnout in J&K and Jharkhand Assembly polls is a victory of democracy. I congratulate the people of these states.

Jammu and Kashmir registered its highest voter turn-out in assembly elections in the last 25 years with an estimated 65% of voters casting their votes, as the fifth and final phase of polling ended on Saturday.
Nazir Masoodi reports:
Voters in Jammu and Kashmir will decide the fate of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and PDP patron and its chief ministerial candidate Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today.
Both leaders cast the vote at their respective polling stations this morning and exuded confidence about their victory.
As Omar cast his vote at Sonwar, he misses his father who is undergoing a surgery in London for kidney ailment.
Omar tweeted: "My thoughts are with my parents as they both prepare for surgery today. I wish I could be there with them but that wasn't to be."
Around 50 kilometers from Srinagar, at Bijbehara in Anantnag district, a visibly confident Mufti cast his vote and talked about his party's wave in the state. "Modi wave is at the national level but Jammu and Kashmir has its own leadership. It's not just me but my party is getting full majority" said Mufti.
He says high voter turnout in Srinagar is historic and it will give legitimacy to elections in the state. "There is fear of BJP and hopes of transparent government by PDP that driving voters today" he said.
Goodbye to poll boycott?
For last 25 years people in Srinagar have boycotted elections. Today unprecedented number of first time voters came to polling booths. They said they are voting for change.
"We have been mislead all these years. I have come out to vote to choose my representative who take care of my day to day needs" said a first-time voter at Pantha Chowk.
In first two hours of polling, there is already 6 to 10 per cent voting in eight assembly constituencies in Srinagar.
Nazir Masoodi reports:
Srinagar is expected to break all records of polling in the last 25 years. The turnout may not be as high as the last three phases of polling in the state, but a large number of people are still coming out to vote indicating a change in the air.
Nazir Masoodi reports:
On a cold and frosty morning it was a slow start to polling in Srinagar. 18 constituencies are going to polls today in the penultimate phase of five phase elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
While voters will decide the fate of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and PDP's chief ministerial candidate Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today, the flood victims in Srinagar are voting with a hope that the new government may rehabilitate them on priority.
Jana Begam was one of the first voters who reached Burn Hall School polling station to cast her vote. Jana lost everything including her house during the September floods. A homeless Jana says she voted for her own rehabilitation.
"Floods have taken away roof from our head. I have voted so that Omar Abdullah will give me a home to live. I have no source of income. My husband died several years ago and its a daily struggle for me and my two daughters," she said.
More than 60,000 homes have been damaged by floods in Srinagar. The last three phases of polling saw a massive turnout despite terror attacks. While Srinagar has been traditionally a low voter turnout area this time it is expected to increase its poll percentage.
Khansahib constituency has topped so far with turnout of 19.64 percent, while the Sopore constituency was lowest with 2.39 percent.

Phase three of the elections in Jammu Kashmir extends to three sensitive districts in the valley, and the turnout here will be a very clear indicator of how much things could have changed on the ground.
Large parts of the Kashmir Valley are voting today in the shadow of serial terror attacks on Friday in which 12 security personnel and one civilian were killed. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is seeking re-election in the third round of staggered elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reached out to a large crowd in Srinagar invoking Atal Behari Vajpayee's famous words that he would seek a solution to the dispute within "Insaaniyat, Kashmiriyat and Jamhooriyat (humanity, the essence of being a Kashmiri, democracy)."
- I will return the love you have given to me with interest, I will return it with development.
- There has not been a single month that I haven't come to J&K since I became PM.
- I have come here to share your sorrows, not to take anything from you.
- You have given me a lot of love, what can be greater than that.
- I have to fulfill Atal ji's dream... he spoke of insaaniyat, kashmiriyat and jamhooriyat.
- Kashmir has lost children of innocent families along with security personnel.

- There is nothing better in India for tourists than Kashmir. We have to get tourists back to the Dal lake again.
- There should be no discrimination... My mantra is sabka saath, sabka vikaas.
- I'm sorry to use harsh words, but when the floods struck the government here was sleeping.
- If Kutch can develop, so can Kashmir.
- For the first time in 30 years, the Army admitted its mistake. This was under BJP rule.

Defying Maoists, nearly a third of voters cast their ballots on Tuesday morning in the second phase of the Jharkhand assembly election.
Moderate polling was today recorded in the nine constituencies of the Kashmir Valley in the second of the five-phased Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Voting began this morning in 18 constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir going to polls in second of the five-phased state elections.
As Phase 2 of Assembly Polls in J&K and Jharkhand commence, I strongly urge people voting in those areas to vote in large numbers.

Stage is set for second phase of elections in 18 seats in Jammu and Kashmir and 20 spread across seven Maoist-hit tribal districts of Jharkhand tomorrow which will seal the fate of several high-profile candidates including two former chief ministers, seven state ministers and a former separatist.
After a record turnout in the first phase, the high-voltage campaigning for the second leg of Assembly elections on December 2 in nine seats in Jammu and as many in Kashmir ended on Sunday.
To offer voters a pleasant and comfortable experience, 45 model polling stations have been set up in Reasi district where three Assembly segments will go to polls in the second phase of Assembly elections on December 2.
Promising to make Jharkhand the 'number one' state in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the government would rein in all the looters of minerals and benefit the state to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore in the next few years.
- We are asking for votes so that we are able to bring prosperity in your lives.
- If anyone has a right to the exchequer, it is the people here. The government's money should benefit the poor.
- The things which these people think are trivial are very big things -- we didn't pay heed to this. Tell me, shouldn't there be toilets for girls in schools?
