Pilgrims killed in Jammu

Jammu: Eleven pilgrims were killed and three children seriously injured when a jeep in which they
were travelling fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district on Friday, police said. The incident took place at Dhamni area, about 64 km from here, when the jeep carrying 14 people skidded off the road and fell into the gorge, Jammu range IGP Dilbagh Singh said.

Eleven pilgrims were killed and three children injured in the mishap, he said. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital from where they were referred to Jammu Government Medical College and Hospital, the IGP said, adding that the vehicle was carrying pilgrims of Shahdra Sharief shrine in Thanamandi area in Rajouri to their native village in Gool in Ramban district.
All the bodies have been recovered and nine of them have been identified, he added.
