Terming as baseless reports that a five kg Improvised Explosive Device was planted to blow up a bus, Jammu and Kashmir police said that some unidentified persons had played a prank by keeping a pressure cooker filled with soap on a road in Doda district to trigger panic.
"There is no truth in the reports that five kg of explosive was yesterday found planted on the road to blow up the passenger bus," Deputy Inspector General, Doda-Ramban-Kishtwar range, Maneesh Sinha said.
"It might be a prank. What we got on Palmar-Patimal road in Doda last evening was an old decayed pressure cooker filled with soap," he said.
We sent the material inside the cooker for forensic testing and the report confirmed that it was soap, he said, adding that people should not panic as there was no attempt being made to blow up the passenger bus as projected by a section of media.
