Jammu: A teacher of the Government Higher Secondary School in Rajouri district of Jammu has been booked on a charge of kicking a Class 9 student in the stomach in a fit of rage. The police however are still to arrest him. The boy who was rushed to hospital by the school has reportedly suffered some injuries to the kidney.
The student who was taken to the district hospital after complaining of abdominal pain alleged that the teacher hit him and kicked him after some boys complained that he was involved in a scuffle with other students. He also told the police that he fell unconscious after he was hit and was then taken to the local hospital.
His one kidney was found to be injured when he reached the hospital. Doctors have reportedly told the parents that the beating could be the reason for that. His father says the boy has been asked to rest for six months.
The school has suspended the teacher pending an investigation but say the incident could be an accident.
