New Delhi: Army recruitment rally has begun for the districts of Ludhiana, Moga, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar (Mohali). The nine day long recruitment rally being held under the Headquarters Recruiting Zone (Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir). The recruitment rally will conclude on 26 April 2017. A total of 20295 candidates have registered for the rally. As per the PTI report, Brigadier JS Samyal, Deputy Director General Recruiting (Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir) has said that, "There is a 30 per cent increase in candidate registration compared to last year".
"The candidates are being strictly screened for drug intake by the medical officers, using their professional expertise and Drug Screening Kits," he further added.
The first day of the rally witnessed active participation of 1871 candidates. Candidates participated for Soldier (Tradesman Category) of Rupnagar and SAS Nagar districts; Soldier (Technical), and Soldier (Technical Nursing Assistant) of Ludhiana, Moga, SAS Nagar and Rupnagar districts.
Candidates are being screened for physical fitness, measurements, medical examination and documentation.
Upon qualifying the tests mentioned above candidates would undergo a written test on 28 May 2017. Only those candidates who make it to the merit list would be dispatched to various training centres . Thereafter candidates will have to undergo training and further induction into the services of the Army.
Brigadier Samyal said the recruitment process is computerized and transparent involving independent and separate board of officers from various Formation Headquarters.
