New Delhi: If you are interested and eligible to appear for the CBSE UGC NET November 2017 exam, start applying today. Online registration for the exam can be done at the official website cbsenet.nic.in. Giving up the long practiced tradition of being held in July, the National Eligibility Test (NET) for determining the eligibility for Assistant Professor post and/ or for granting Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) will be held this year in November. The exam will be held on 5 November 2017 for 84 subjects and at 91 cities.

  1. The last date for online registration is 11 September 2017

  2. The last date for submission of fee through online generated Bank challan, at any branch of (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank) or through credit/debit card is 12 September 2017

  3. While applying online candidates should mention if they want to apply for both JRF and Assistant Professor post or only for Assistant Professor post

  4. In order to be eligible for the exam, applicants must have atleast 55% marks in Master's degree (50% marks for reserved category candidates). Those awaiting their final result of the qualifying degree are also eligible to apply

  5. PhD holders who have completed the Master's level exam by 19 September 1991 are eligible to apply and will be given a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate marks

  6. 'Candidates having post-graduate diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/ Institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by the foreign University/institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate with Master's degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.   7. NET exam will comprise of three papers: paper 1 and 2 will be of 75 minutes duration, each; paper 3 will be of 150 minutes

  8. Pass mark for general category candidates is 40% in all the three papers taken together and is 35% marks for OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PwD/SC/ST category candidates

  9. On the exam day, candidates must carry their admit card along with a photo identity card

  10. CBSE UGC NET November 2017 exam answer key will be released in January 2018
