CRPF ASI Steno Selection Process

Central Reserve Police Force will start online application process for Assistant Sub Inspector recruitment on 27 March 2017. Candidates, keen to apply, must first go through the
eligibility conditions and understand the selection process properly. In order to prepare for the forthcoming exam, candidates must gain adequate knowledge in this regard. The selection process will consist of physical standard test/ documentation, written examination, skill test and medical exam. The final merit list will be on the basis of the performance of the candidate in all of the steps mentioned above.
Physical Standards Test/ DocumentationCandidates must fulfill the physical standards as given in the eligibility conditions. CRPF notification mentions that, "The candidates who do not fulfill the laid down physical standards will be eliminated from recruitment process by giving rejection slip, thereof, by Presiding Officer. However elimination on grounds of weight will be done at time of medical examination only. "
Candidates who qualify the physical standard test will be eligible for documentation. In documentation process, candidates shall have to produce original documents in support of eligibility.
Written ExaminationThe OMR based written examination (225 marks in total) will be held for those candidates who qualify in physical standards test. Candidates can get date and venue of the exam in the admit card (will be issued online before the exam).
Written exam will comprise of Hindi or English language, General Intelligence, numerical aptitude, clerical aptitude, descriptive paper (Essay writing and letter writing).
Skill TestThis will be a stenography/ short hand test for those candidates who qualify the written examination. It will be of qualifying nature only. While transcription test will be done on computers, dictation test can be taken in shorthand strokes.
Medical ExaminationCandidates who qualify the skill test will be required to appear for medical examination. In the official notification it is mentioned that, "The Medical will be conducted by the authorized doctor on board and the entire BOO including PO and members will remain present and ensure action in accordance of latest circulated instructions of the ADG Medical CAPF, MHA. "
In case candidates are not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, they can submit for review medical examination.
Final Merit ListThe final merit list is prepared taking the marks obtained in the written test. The minimum cut off percentage of marks will be 40% for general and ex-servicemen and 35% for SC/ ST/ OBC.
