HPPSC has postponed the State Administrative Services Prelim exam
New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has postponed the HP Administrative Service Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination 2019. The HPAS prelim exam was scheduled on April 26, 2020. The decision to postpone the exam was taken in light of the nation-wide lockdown which will end on April 14.
A notice on the HPPSC website says, "In pursuance of the new direction of the Government issued vide Department of Health & Family Order No.HFW-A-A(3)1/2020 dated 31-03-2020 to continue the restrictions imposed and the preventive measures adopted in the public interest to contain the spread of COVID-19, till 14th April, 2020, it has been decided by the Commission to postpone the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2019 scheduled to be held on 26th April, 2020."
New dates for the examination will be announced later. Candidates who have applied for the exam should visit the official website for any update.
HPPSC had announced the HPAS preliminary exam 2019 in January this year. The Commission had advertised total 26 vacancies available with different state government departments.
The Prelim exam, when conducted, will be held for two papers. paper I will be General Studies paper carrying 100 objective questions and total 200 marks. Paper II will be Aptitude Test, again carrying 100 objective questions and total 200 marks. Candidates who qualify the prelim exam will be shortlisted for main exam.
