New Delhi: Indian Navy has invited applications from eligible candidates (unmarried male) from North Eastern States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland and Sikkim) for enrolment as Sailors for Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR)- February 2018 Batch. 'Candidates should have qualified 10+2/ equivalent exam with Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects; optional subjects Chemistry/ Biology/ Computers. Candidates should have been born between 01 Feb 1997 to 31 Jan 2001 (Both dates inclusive),' reads the official notification.
Candidates can apply at joinindiannavy.gov.in.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in written test, physical fitness and medical examination. The written test (objective type) will be of one hour and will comprise of questions from English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Physical fitness test will comprise of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups.
Candidates can apply till 15 October 2017.
Candidates shall have to take original and one self attested copy of Matriculation certificate, 10+2 marksheet and certificate, NCC certificates, Domicile certificates and ten colour passport photographs.
