SSC CHSL 2017: Complete Exam Pattern

Online registration has begun for SSC CHSL 2017. Applicants, who have qualified 10+2 and are in the age group of 18-27 years can apply for it. Aspirants should have a thorough knowledge on the exam pattern. SSC CHSL tier 1 exam will be held in March and the tier 2 exam (descriptive paper) will be held in July 2018. 'Tentative vacancies for the posts of LDC/ JSA, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and DEO are 898, 2359, 2 and Data Entry Operator Grade "A"- Nil, respectively,' says the Commission about vacancy details.
SSC CHSL 2017 Exam Details Released; 3259 VacanciesSSC CHSL 2017: Exam PatternTier 1 exam will be objective type and will be computer based. It will be held from 4 March till 26 March 2018. The exam will consist of questions from English language, general intelligence, quantitative aptitude and general awareness. The exam will carry a total of 200 marks and candidates will be allowed 60 minutes for the same. 'This examination tier will consist of Objective Type - Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-II, III & IV. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.'
Tier 2 exam will be pen paper based. It will be a descriptive paper and will carry 100 marks in total. Candidates will be allowed 60 minutes to prove their writing skills. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/ Application of approximately 150-200 words. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent.
Tier 3 will be of qualifying nature. It will comprise of skill test or typing test. The final merit of the successful candidates would be determined on the basis of total score obtained by them in Tier-I and Tier-II.
